Last Revision: Updates on Artist and Cat
After almost 6 months of working part time on my artist and cat game, it is finally looking good. I also finally have a name for it.
Last Revision
I spent a lot of time refining the art style. Maybe too much time. As a designer, I keep noticing small things and then I want to fix them. Then I fix one thing and another thing starts bothering me. At some point I realised I was just stuck in that loop.
This project was supposed to be a small project. Not a big game. Not something that takes forever. I started it mostly to learn game development, understand the process, and make something small that feels personal.
But I kept improving it.
I kept changing the art. I kept adjusting the mood. I kept trying to make it better.
And honestly, I think that is where I need to stop now.
The game is not perfect, but it feels close to what I wanted. And for a small first game, that is enough.
Release plan
As planned, I will release Last Revision on itch.io for free.
I think itch.io is the right place for this game right now. It keeps things simple. I can release it, share it, and not overthink the whole process too much. Maybe later I can try bringing it to Steam, but I do not want to make that the focus right now.
Right now the focus is just to finish the game and release it.
